Finding peace in the midst of the storm

With the holidays quickly approaching and the global and political climate what it is, how do we find calm and peace in the midst of the chaos?

Very deliberately…

You’ve heard the expression, “Life is what happens when you’re busy making other plans”? It is true. Precious moments of connection, sensation or experience may easily be missed when we are not present to them.

Breathe into your lower abdomen. Gather any stress and tension in your body and allow it to flow out with your exhale. Our breath can be an example of a resource.

Consider one central, cosmic unified Source, from which all life emerges and to which all life returns. We can find a place in our bodies through which we can connect to or access that Source. (Hint: it is NOT your mind.)

Allowing ourselves to “drop in” to that deep resonate place of connectedness with each other, our world, Nature is a form of resourcing or “re-Sourcing.” It is a matter of being present to each moment as it comes, without focusing on worrying about what is to come or rehashing what has already happened. When movement and action comes from that place of centeredness or stillness, our whole beings are involved, and everything works in union.

Be here now.

And I like to take it one step further… Be love now.

Finding this interconnectedness with all things opens us up to give and receive love that is beyond our human experience of love. It is unconditional love and acceptance. It is AGAPE love. Of all people. Of all beings. Of all states of being. Of everything. Without exception. Think about that for a moment.

All of the judgments you have for yourself and others are melting away in that kind of love. Let that sink in. Can you feel it? Any way that you’ve ever felt less than or unworthy, it’s gone. Anything that you feel you must do to compensate for a shortcoming– washed away. Completely. You are cradled and adored in the bosom of Source, just as a newborn is loved and protected by a parent.

So breathe in that love, Dear Ones. Relish that freedom from responsibility, planning and obligations for a moment, in the midst of it all. And know you are loved deeply, just as you are. Then little by little, see if you can extend that love to yourself, to your family, to your community, to your country and to your planet. We will all be better for it.

LET love lead, my friends.
